About Me
Biomedical Engineer & Data Scientist
I’m Precious Ejiba, a Biomedical Engineer and Data Scientist passionate about transforming healthcare through technology. I combine deep expertise in biomedical engineering with advanced data science skills to build impactful digital health solutions. I’m the innovator behind DB GlucoTrack, a platform that empowers people with diabetes to self-manage their health using clear visual insights.
I come from a background where access to quality healthcare often determines survival. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand how system failures and delayed interventions could cost lives. It wasn’t just statistics, it was personal. That reality became the foundation of my purpose.
My journey began in biomedical engineering, where I gained a solid foundation in medical technologies and their critical role in patient care. But as I engaged with real-world challenges from equipment breakdowns in hospitals to missed opportunities for early disease detection. I realised that data had the power to drive life-saving solutions. That realisation sparked my transition into data science.
Today, I use technology not just to fix what’s broken, but to build systems that prevent breakdowns in the first place. I design tools that make healthcare more predictive, data more meaningful, and support more human. My work is rooted in empathy, driven by innovation, and aimed at solving real problems, especially for underserved communities.
Whether it’s through DB GlucoTrack, a data-powered self-management platform for diabetes, or my research into predictive modelling for medical equipment failure, every product or project I build is driven by a single goal: to bridge the gap between data and care. My solutions are designed to be scalable, purposeful, and deeply human, using data as a force for prevention, empowerment, and equity in healthcare. My mission is to transform global healthcare through scalable, human-centred innovations. My values are impact, empathy, integrity, and excellence.
What drives me is the belief that everyone deserves access to intelligent, proactive healthcare regardless of geography or status.
This isn’t just a career for me — it’s a callingPortfolio

- Data Visualisation in Diabetes Self-Management – IRE Journals | ResearchGate
Research Experience
- Identification of Biomarkers for Early-Stage Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)
- qPCR assay development for HA & CA MRSA detection and antibiotic profiling
- Chronic disease detection using physiological and lifestyle data (DB GlucoTrack Phase 3)
• Conducted differential expression and pathway enrichment analysis on public gene expression datasets from NCBI and GEO.
• Identified three potential biomarkers for early-stage HCC, including AFP, a known biomarker thereby validating the research approach
• Designed and validated a qPCR assay to detect both hospital-acquired (HA) and community-acquired (CA) MRSA.
• Performed antimicrobial susceptibility testing across identified MRSA strains.
• Exploring how diabetes and lifestyle data can predict early signs of chronic diseases, using liver cancer as a case study.
• Supports DB GlucoTrack’s Phase 3 goal of adding predictive insights to enhance early detection and intervention.
